Treasury

Dear Kelvin SDA Congregants
The Treasury Department thankful to each of you for your prayers, support, and patience since the beginning of this year.
The goal of the Treasury Department is to provide the best possible service to God and to the Kelvin SDA Church Family. As a first step on our way to achieving our goal, we have upgraded our hardware and are in the process of upgrading our software to insure the integrity of our financial data and also to provide you with the necessary documentation and information in a timelier manner. In addition, our current system will provide you with up-to-date, easily read, and understandable financial reports.
As one of our ventures for the 1st Quarter 2009, we would like to increase the volume of internet transfers and direct deposits (Tithe & Freewill Offerings) into the bank account by all, as opposed to cash on Sabbath. Treasury will make available a computer at church for those of you without access to one to enable you to make transfers. Treasury department will be available to assist you if necessary.

Treasury Department                                                                                                                                                                                       Below is some information you will do well know, and the categories that you would need to indicate for treasury to correctly allocate the offerings and tithes that give.
COMBINED OFFERING PLAN
The Combined Offering System:
This system enables you to prayerfully plan your giving, fully aware that God requires a full tithe – a test of your recognition of His Ownership; and freewill offerings as an expression of your love and gratitude to God and your commitment to participate in the mission of His church. You have a choice to either give your offering as a lump sum, or to make your own distribution.
Lump Sum Offering: The allocation of your offerings (Excluding TITHE) will be made by your church treasurer, using these percentages:
Local Church 50%
Local Conference (TOC) 20%
Union Conference 10%
World Mission 20%
God’s Tithe: To support the gospel ministry of the world church. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house”(Malachi 3:10, NIV)
USE OF CHURCH FUNDS
Local Church: These funds are used to support the mission and ministry of your local church, in this case Kelvin SDA Church. The church requires these funds to function and to meet its needs on a day to day basis.
Local Conference: To support the needs of your local conference, such as evangelism, construction of churches and Christian education.
Union Conference: To support Union institutions and for resource development.
World Mission: To support the world-wide mission of the Seventh day Adventist Church.
Special Projects: These are selected special projects you may wish to support. In our case at Kelvin SDA Church we have the Building Project and the Welfare Project (Dudu Zwane) and any other projects that may come up from time to time. Clearly indicate the special project you are giving to.
